Please join the Hot Flashes MS Walk team in the fight against multiple sclerosis
For those who have not done MS Walks before,
they are fundraisers for the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society and are held each year in the spring. The primary goal of the MS Walks is to raise money
for research, treatment, and support services to help people with
multiple sclerosis. However, the fun that you have doing the
walk and socializing with your teammates, and any premiums that you
earn based on the amount of money you raise, are definite bonuses. The Hot Flashes team has
been doing the MS Walk every
year since 2000 (see Team
History), and now participates at three walk sites: Rockland, Westchester, and Manhattan. We are proud of the fact that the team has raised a total of over
$350,000 during our first 12 years. Much progress has been made
in the battle against multiple sclerosis, but much more remains to be
done.
The 2012 MS Walks have now taken place, and the Hot Flashes team participated in three of them. The
money from the 2012 MS Walks is still being tallied, so I can't give
you a final total yet, but I know that we've already raised over
$27,000 this year, and I hope that the final Hot Flashes team total
will exceed $50,000. The MS Society has given us several weeks after
the MS Walks themselves to get more sponsors and raise additional money
to fight MS; please Sponsor me with a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Since this year's MS Walks have already taken place, I can't ask you to
join the team for the 2012 MS Walk. But I am already recruiting for
2013! If you would be interested in joining us, please E-mail me
and send me your name and e-mail address. Then, in early 2013 when the
date for the 2013 MS Walks have been set, I'll e-mail you and give you
the date and information about how to sign up.
